Heong Kee is a hidden gem that offers a delightful seafood experience. While the overall dining experience might not be extraordinary, the fresh seafood dishes are definitely worth trying. The steamed fish is a standout, with its tender, flaky flesh and subtle flavors. The 4 treasures soup is another winner, with a rich and comforting broth. The prawn and bean stir-fry and lala fried mee hoon are also tasty, though not particularly memorable. The pineapple dessert is a refreshing way to end the meal. While the food is good, the service can be a bit slow, especially during peak hours. The restaurant can get quite crowded, so it's advisable to make a reservation, especially on weekends. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, as you may need to park along the roadside. Overall, Heong Kee is a decent place to enjoy fresh seafood for family gatherings.
1st time here and we enjoyed the food . Szechuan Style Stingray fish was great, homemade tofu was perfect, braised pork was delicious & my personal favourite is their dry butter prawn, damnnn delicious ! Prawn was huge & fresh .
Generally good food here with some really tasty. Recommended dish chili stir fried baby prawn. Food: 7/10
We came here for dinner based on the reviews. It didn’t disappoint at all .We had the Kam Heong Crab, though it was medium sized but was delicious. The salted egg chicken was good and so was the kangkung belacan. The butter prawns was delicious but wished the had the larger prawns. Egg Fuyong is a must try too and the sizzling taufu was also very good with the eggs and mushrooms. We had the signature yam paste dessert which was unique and tasty, not too sweet . Great place to come for food
Came here for lunch after my golf game at Templer Park GCC. Great variety but was recommended a few by a friend who are regular here. Curry fried shark meat taste good as the curry are well mix with spices, couple with the fresh fish, perfect match and highly recommended. Sizzling prawn and squid is another good choice, especially when you eat with white rice, fresh seafood always add more points to the score. Fried shrimps and vege also taste great, no complain. The surprise is probably the pineapple, taste so sweet and every table has one plate before starting their meal. Oh ya, we ordered the home made fried toufu, forgot to take pictures as i was busy eating 4 pax with rice and Chinese Tea costs abt RM213. Really value for money.
What a surprise dinner! Never judged the book by the cover! What a local zhi char that offer best Teochew cook food, the portion are big and reasonable price! And the service is fantastic and friendly too. Love the food and people here. Highly recommended
Located near the Taman Selayang Jaya night market, this Chinese restaurant is often packed and it was our first time here after trying to scout for food. We ordered teppan seafood with special sauce, tofu stew, sweet sour pork for the kid, French beans stir fry with tiny shrimps, fried fish and their signature yam paste for dessert. Overall all dishes were well prepared and taste good. Special mention to the teppan seafood as the big prawns and squid are very fresh and nicely cooked to the right texture. The tiny shrimp French beans are also less common and should try, although the taste is kinda expected of a sambal stir fry style without much surprise. The yam paste, while enjoyable, leaned towards the sweeter end, aligning with dessert expectations. Consumption in excess may lead to a feeling of being overly satiated. Service was generally satisfactory, although the boss appeared somewhat unfavorable on that particular day. The remaining staff members were responsive and provided adequate service.
Just excellent quality seafood, cooked well, at a very reasonable price. Dry butter with egg floss squid was amazing - it would definitely have worked with any other seafood as well. Crabs were really fresh and fleshy. Vegetables were cooked well and had a good amount of wok hei.
